Design and Development of Clarithromycin Floating Pellets Using Sodium Alginate and HPMC

چکیده

The purpose of our study was to achieve the gastro-retentive delivery Clarithromycin by producing floating pellets get a better therapeutic effect against gastrointestinal ulcers mostly caused Hedyotis pylori. Thereby were prepared utilizing blending polymers such as Sodium (Na) Alginate and Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMCK4M & HPMC K100LV). HPMC-alginate blend containing produced hydrogel bead that able show buoyancy in simulated gastric fluid. showed more than 8 hours depending on their polymeric ratio. In addition test, several other tests like time (upto 12 hrs with increasing Na-Alginate), contraction ratio, particle size analysis, performed development acceptable pellets. Furthermore, SEM pellet assess morphological characteristics. 1.5% Na-alginate K4M: K100LV (1:2) give formulation produce pharmaceutically parameters. Dhaka Univ. J. Pharm.
